Classico is an Italian restaurant in the Blackman Art Series Hotel, St Kilda Road, Melbourne next door to a Depot De Pain.

The menu contains produce-driven, typically Italian dishes void of clever tricks, and the design took the same approach. We wanted the fit-out to showcase a traditional palette of materials in a simple and contemporary way.

Embracing the tight proportions while taking cues from Pellegrini’s, the space was arranged into corridors for patrons to inhabit with a high number of stools to cater for solo diners, particularly important in a hotel.
