Depot de Pain is a bakery cafe and shop in Hawthorn; the third design in the series. This project provided the opportunity to evolve the language developed in previous depots using steel, timber and marble.

The challenge was to balance the speed, light and casual nature of a cafe and shop with the slower pace and warmer quality desirable for a restaurant. Variety and intimacy was achieved by creating distinct areas including a separate shop and coffee station.
